Five traditional botanicals, plus B vitamins that carry real claims.

ZenBlend combines ashwagandha, rhodiola, ginseng and maca — four of the most widely used adaptogenic botanicals — with a B-vitamin complex. The botanicals have long histories of traditional use. The B vitamins are where the authorised claims sit, and we have set those out plainly below.

ZenBlend Ashwagandha Adaptogen Complex UK by BioBodyBoost

Stress is common. Supplements are not a treatment for it.

Mental Health Foundation research found that 74% of UK adults had at some point in the past year felt so stressed they were overwhelmed or unable to cope. That is a real and widely cited figure, and it is why this category exists.

It is also where a lot of supplement marketing goes wrong. You will see brands promise cortisol reduction, week-by-week recovery timelines and relief from anxiety. We are not going to, for two reasons. No health claim is currently authorised for ashwagandha, rhodiola, ginseng or maca in the UK — botanical claims remain on hold pending assessment. And if stress is genuinely affecting your daily life, a supplement is not the answer; your GP is.

What we can tell you is what is in the capsule, and what the added vitamins are permitted to be described as doing.

What is in the formula

The five components

Described by what they are and where they come from, rather than what they will do for you.

1

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera)

A shrub native to India, the Middle East and parts of Africa. Its root has been used in Ayurvedic practice for centuries and it is among the most researched botanicals in the category, though no claim is yet authorised in the UK.

2

Rhodiola (Rhodiola rosea)

An arctic flowering plant growing in cold, high-altitude regions of Europe and Asia. Long used in Scandinavian and Russian traditional practice. Contains rosavins and salidroside.

3

Panax ginseng

One of the oldest documented botanicals in traditional Chinese and Korean practice. The active compounds are a family of saponins known as ginsenosides.

4

Maca (Lepidium meyenii)

A root vegetable in the brassica family, grown at high altitude in the Peruvian Andes and eaten as a food there for generations.

5

B-vitamin complex, including niacin

Unlike the botanicals, B vitamins have authorised claims. Niacin, and the other B vitamins in the formula, carry the wordings set out in the next section.

What this product is authorised to be described as doing

These claims are carried by the added B vitamins, not by the botanicals.

Niacin contributes to

Normal energy-yielding metabolism · normal functioning of the nervous system · normal psychological function · the maintenance of normal skin and mucous membranes · the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

What is not claimed

No claim is made about cortisol, anxiety, sleep quality, burnout or hormonal balance. None of those is authorised for the botanicals in this formula, and any brand telling you otherwise is going beyond what has been assessed.

Who tends to buy this

Adaptogenic botanicals are widely used. Here is who typically reaches for a blend rather than a single herb.

People already familiar with ashwagandha who want more than one botanical

Anyone wanting a halal-approved, vegan adaptogen blend

Those who would rather take one capsule than four separate products

People avoiding bovine gelatine capsules

Anyone looking for B vitamins alongside their botanicals

Those who want to know exactly what is claimed and what is not

Where the research stands

Ashwagandha and rhodiola are genuinely active research areas, and you will find plenty of trials if you look. What you will not find is an authorised UK health claim for either — botanical claims remain on hold, which means brands are not permitted to tell you what these ingredients will do for your health.

This page used to cite individual studies and quote a cortisol reduction figure. We have removed that. Placing a trial next to a product implies the trial supports the product, and that is a claim we are not permitted to make and could not properly stand behind.

If you want to read the research, PubMed is free and searchable by botanical name. If stress is affecting your sleep, your work or your relationships, please speak to your GP rather than reaching for a supplement first.

Common questions

How long until I notice something?

We are not able to tell you that, and we would be inventing a number if we tried. Adaptogenic botanicals are traditionally taken consistently over weeks rather than as a one-off. Any brand giving you a precise week-by-week timeline is describing an effect that has not been authorised.

Is ZenBlend halal and vegan?

It is halal approved and suitable for vegetarians and vegans, with a plant-based capsule shell rather than bovine gelatine.

Can I take it with medication or alongside other supplements?

Speak to your GP or pharmacist first if you take prescribed medication, particularly for thyroid, blood pressure, blood sugar or mental health, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Botanicals can interact with medicines and this is worth a conversation rather than a guess.

Can I stack it with other BioBodyBoost products?

Yes. See Magnesium 3 Complex or Lipovita D3+K2. Check your total intake across products so you are not doubling up on the same nutrients.
