You're probably vitamin D deficient right now. Not maybe. Probably. An estimated 1 in 5 UK adults has low vitamin D levels — and if you work indoors, wear sunscreen, or haven't seen proper sunshine since last summer, the odds are not in your favour. The fix most people reach for is a basic D3 tablet. The problem? Most contain lanolin-derived cholecalciferol from sheep's wool, use a form of K2 your body clears in hours, and absorb poorly without fat. Lipovita D3+K2 vegan liposomal drops do it differently.
D3 Without K2 Is Half the Story
Here's what most supplement brands don't tell you: vitamin D3 pulls calcium into your bloodstream. That's its job. But once it's there, the calcium needs somewhere to go. Without K2, it doesn't go to your bones — it circulates freely and can end up deposited in soft tissue and arteries instead.
K2 is the traffic controller. It activates the proteins — osteocalcin and Matrix Gla Protein — that physically direct calcium into bone and away from where it doesn't belong. Research confirms D3 and K2 together produce significantly greater improvements in bone density than either nutrient taken alone. They're not interchangeable. They complete each other.
That's why every Lipovita drop contains both — at doses that actually move the needle.
Why Most D3+K2 Supplements Fall Short
The D3 source problem. Walk into any chemist and pick up a vitamin D3 supplement. Flip it over. Chances are it says "cholecalciferol (from lanolin)" — sheep's wool. That's not vegan. It's not halal. It's not kosher. And most brands don't flag this prominently. Lipovita uses D3 from lichen — a plant source — producing biologically identical cholecalciferol that works exactly the same way, for everyone.
The K2 form problem. There are two common forms of K2: MK-4 and MK-7. MK-4 clears your bloodstream in 4–6 hours. MK-7 stays active for 72+ hours from a single daily dose. Holland & Barrett's D3+K2 tablet uses MK-4. Lipovita uses MK-7, sourced from fermented natto — the form used in clinical research on bone density and arterial health.
The absorption problem. Vitamins D and K are fat-soluble. A dry tablet taken without food can pass through largely unabsorbed. BetterYou solves this with an oral spray. We go further — liposomal delivery encapsulates D3 and K2 in phospholipid spheres (the same structure as your cell membranes) suspended in MCT oil, so absorption happens with or without food, and more of what you take actually reaches your cells.
What's in Every Drop

Vitamin D3 (vegan cholecalciferol from lichen) — 4,000 IU (100µg) · supports calcium absorption, normal immune function, and bone maintenance
-
Vitamin K2 MK-7 (from fermented natto) — 100µg · directs calcium to bones, supports cardiovascular health — the long-acting MK-7 form, active for 72+ hours
-
MCT oil from coconut · fat carrier for superior absorption of these fat-soluble vitamins
-
Sunflower lecithin · natural liposomal delivery agent — the technology that makes this vegan D3 K2 liquid outperform standard tablets
One 60ml bottle = 60 daily servings. The NHS recommends 10µg (400 IU) daily as a baseline — Lipovita provides 100µg for those with deficiency, limited sun exposure, or higher physiological need.

How to Take It
1ml once daily — straight on the tongue, or stirred into water, juice, or a smoothie. Shake first. Works as your daily vitamin D3 K2 drop with or without food — take with breakfast if you can for optimal routine. Unlike dry tablets, the MCT oil base means absorption doesn't depend on eating fat alongside it.
Essential from October to April when UK sunlight can't trigger D3 synthesis in the skin. Worth taking year-round if you're indoors most of the day, have darker skin, or wear covering clothing.
For full bone and joint support, pair with Flexi-Time — our vegan glucosamine, MSM, and turmeric complex for cartilage and connective tissue.
Is This You?
- You're indoors most of the day and rarely get direct midday sun
- You live anywhere north of Birmingham — D3 synthesis is limited even in summer at UK latitudes
- You have darker skin — melanin reduces the skin's capacity to produce D3 from UV
- You cover your skin for religious or personal reasons
- You've tried standard D3 tablets and not noticed much difference
- You need a D3 that's genuinely vegan, halal, and kosher — not just "suitable for vegetarians"
- You're over 50 — skin D3 synthesis declines with age regardless of sun exposure

Questions We Get Asked
Why does the D3 source matter — isn't D3 just D3?
Chemically yes — but the source determines who can take it. Standard D3 (cholecalciferol from lanolin) is derived from sheep's wool. That rules out vegans, and it's not considered halal or kosher by most certifying bodies. Lichen-sourced D3 is biologically identical but entirely plant-derived — so it works exactly the same way for everyone, without the compliance issues. Most brands don't change from lanolin because it's cheaper. We do, because a significant part of our customer base requires it.
What's the difference between MK-7 and MK-4 vitamin K2?
Both activate the K2-dependent proteins your body needs for bone and cardiovascular health — but MK-7 stays active for 72+ hours from a single daily dose, while MK-4 clears your system in 4–6 hours. For once-daily supplementation, MK-7 is the only form that provides consistent 24-hour activity. MK-4 requires multiple daily doses to maintain meaningful blood levels, which most supplement labels don't tell you. Lipovita uses MK-7 from natto, the form used in clinical research.
Is 4,000 IU of D3 safe every day?
Yes for most healthy adults — 4,000 IU (100µg) is the NHS upper tolerable intake for daily supplementation. The Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition (SACN) sets this as the safe upper limit without medical supervision. If you have conditions affecting calcium metabolism — sarcoidosis, hyperparathyroidism, or kidney disease — speak to your GP before supplementing at any dose. For confirmed deficiency, a GP may prescribe higher therapeutic doses short-term.
I'm on warfarin. Can I take this?
No — not without speaking to your GP first. Vitamin K2 directly influences the clotting pathways that warfarin acts on. Even the MK-7 form at moderate doses can alter INR readings. This applies to all vitamin K supplements regardless of form or dose. If you're anticoagulated, your GP or anticoagulation clinic needs to advise before you add any K2 product.
How long does a bottle last and when will I notice a difference?
60ml = 60 daily servings — a two-month supply. Energy levels and general wellbeing often improve within 4–6 weeks. Meaningful changes in bone density from consistent D3+K2 supplementation are typically measurable at 3–6 months. Immune support is ongoing — vitamin D plays a year-round regulatory role in immune cell function, not just through winter.
Can I stack this with other BioBodyBoost supplements?
Yes — and a few pairings work particularly well. ImmuneBoost complements Lipovita's immune angle — D3 regulates immune cell function while vitamin C supports white blood cell production and collagen synthesis. Bio Mushroom Boost adds beta-glucan immune support on top. For bone and joint health together, Flexi-Time covers the cartilage and connective tissue side that D3+K2 doesn't address directly.
Is this different to just taking separate D3 and K2 supplements?
The nutrients are the same — the delivery isn't. Combining D3 and K2 in the same liposomal liquid means both are encapsulated together in the same phospholipid spheres, absorbed via the same pathway at the same time, and carried by the same MCT oil base. Taking two separate tablets achieves the same nutritional input but with lower and more variable absorption — especially if taken without fat. One formula, one dose, better bioavailability.
Food supplements should not replace a varied diet or healthy lifestyle. Consult your GP before use if pregnant, breastfeeding, taking prescription medication, or managing a diagnosed health condition.
