Allergy warning: contains GLUTEN and SULPHITES. Gluten comes from the pre-sprouted activated barley, wheat grass and barley grass leaf. Sulphites occur naturally in the spirulina and chlorella. Not suitable for coeliacs or anyone avoiding gluten or sulphites.
This is not an ordinary green shake. BioGreenz is a Soil Association and EU certified organic blend of over 35 organic ingredients — greens, algae, vegetables, fruits, berries, herbs, seeds and seven mushroom fruiting bodies — in every serving. High in dietary fibre, naturally rich in food-form vitamin C, and only 53 calories per serving.
Why Food-Form Organic Nutrition Is Different
Most greens powders are a handful of grasses plus a synthetic vitamin premix. BioGreenz takes the opposite approach: every nutrient arrives inside the food that produced it, alongside the phytochemicals and fibre that accompany it in nature. The vitamin C comes from acerola cherry and baobab, not ascorbic acid powder.
The numbers per 100g: 17.1g fibre, 125mg vitamin C, 10.6g plant protein, 49.7g carbohydrate of which only 6.8g sugars, 5.1g fat. Per 15g serving that is 2.6g fibre, 18.7mg vitamin C (23% NRV) and just 53 calories.
How Other UK Greens Powders Compare
AG1 / Athletic Greens — comprehensive, expensive, not organic-certified. The category benchmark, covering a great deal at a subscription price several times higher, without full organic certification or halal approval.
Amazing Grass Green Superfood — popular, not fully organic, not halal. A well-known greens brand with decent formulation, but not certified organic throughout and with no halal or kosher approval.
Bioglan Superfoods — fewer ingredients, not halal. A narrower blend than 35+ organic whole foods, without halal certification.

How to Take It
Mix 1½ heaped scoops (15g) into water, fruit or vegetable juice, coconut milk or almond milk. Stir, or use a blender for the smoothest result. You can also add fresh fruit and blend it into a smoothie, or sprinkle the powder over food. Use 1 to 3 times per day. The 300g pot gives a minimum of 20 servings.
If you need a gluten-free alternative, Bio Mushroom Boost is Soil Association organic with no cereal grasses. For a capsule version of this same organic blend, SuperBio — though note it also contains gluten and sulphites.
Is This You?
- You want Soil Association certified organic rather than a self-declared "natural" claim
- You'd rather have food-form nutrition than synthetic isolated vitamins
- You want seven mushroom fruiting bodies alongside your greens, not just grasses
- You need halal and kosher approved greens — AG1, Amazing Grass and Bioglan carry neither
- You do not need to avoid gluten or sulphites — this product contains both

Questions We Get Asked
Does BioGreenz contain gluten?
Yes. The formula includes pre-sprouted activated barley, wheat grass and barley grass leaf, all of which contain gluten — the supplier lists them in bold as allergens. It is not suitable for coeliacs or anyone on a gluten-free diet. Many greens powders are gluten-free and buyers reasonably assume it; cereal grasses are the common exception. If you need gluten-free, Bio Mushroom Boost is an organic alternative without cereal grasses.
What are the sulphites?
They occur naturally in the spirulina and chlorella — they are not added. The supplier declares them as allergens, so anyone with a sulphite sensitivity, which is more common among asthmatics, should avoid this product.
How much protein and fibre does it contain?
10.6g protein and 17.1g fibre per 100g — 1.6g protein and 2.6g fibre per 15g serving, at only 53 calories. It is a whole-food nutrition blend rather than a protein powder; if protein content is your priority, PeaPro delivers 18.1g per serving.
Which mushrooms are in it?
Seven, all as fruiting body rather than mycelium: almond mushroom, chaga, cordyceps, lion's mane, maitake, reishi and shiitake. Fruiting body is the premium form — mycelium grown on grain carries a large proportion of starch.
Food supplements should not replace a varied diet or healthy lifestyle. Contains gluten and sulphites. Not suitable for coeliacs. Consult your GP before use if pregnant, breastfeeding, or managing a diagnosed health condition.
